World Snooker Tour’s Chief Commercial Officer, Peter Wright, stressed that the programme aims to create meaningful impact in clubs and communities where snooker is played and loved. Smart Energy GB’s Deputy Director, Phillippa Brown, said that many people are dealing with high living costs and volatile energy prices, so advice should be brought directly to local communities. The event is part of a wider effort by Smart Energy GB to increase awareness and understanding of smart meter benefits. One interesting detail is the location. Maxi Lounge is in Yate, a suburban town outside Bristol, not in a major sports arena. The timing, 6–8 pm, is meant to make it easy for people to drop by after work.
