V-League 2026/25: Colors Waiting to Shine

The 2026/25 V-League season is not just a race among top clubs, but a journey proving that this football culture is gradually maturing from the scars of the past. In 53 years of following and commenting on football, I have witnessed many generations of Vietnamese footballers grow up under the Sports Academy roof. Some faces that once stirred millions of hearts now sit in coaching positions; some young players who were faint silhouettes on the sidelines yesterday have become pillars. The V-League, with all its limitations, remains the only place where Vietnamese football dreams are tested in real fire. The first thing to recognize is the increasingly clear polarization in the league. Defending champions and leading contenders possess superior financial resources, while clubs in the lower half of the standings face survival equations from the very first rounds. This is not unique to Vietnamese football - it is a common reality in developing leagues worldwide, where the rich-poor gap is increasingly woven into every tactical line. CLB Danang under their new coach is showing notable signals. The central coastal city club has combined well-trained domestic players with strategically signed foreign contracts. What I've observed after many years of observation is that successful V-League clubs are not always the highest spenders, but those who know how to build a stable operating system from defense to attack. Returning to the story of young players, one of the most notable highlights of this season is the rise of the 2026-2026 generation. Faces trained at academies like PVF and HAGL-JMG have now matured and begun asserting their positions in starting lineups. This is the first generation to benefit from the wave of investment in youth infrastructure nearly a decade ago - and though results haven't fully met initial expectations, the first fruits of the season are beginning to ripen. The answer, I believe, lies right on V-League pitches - where coaches are experimenting with different models, and time will tell us the right path. Technology is also gradually permeating Vietnamese football. The VAR system has been deployed in some important matches, and though operation controversies remain, this is an inevitable step. Notably, professionals are beginning to use data analysis tools to evaluate players - a change from just five years ago, when almost every decision was based on subjective intuition. Looking ahead, the 2026/25 V-League promises memorable stories. It could be a team's journey from the bottom to the top of the table, the breakout of an unknown young talent, or simply moments when Vietnamese football proves it deserves to be loved.
